[OLUG] Red Hat on laptop

Red Hat should work fine, depending on the hardware your Gateway has - I
would suggest checking out the Linux Laptop page - you can find it easily by
going to www.google.com , type "linux laptop" in the search box, and click
"I'm feeling lucky".  They'll most likely have a listing for your machine
with tips for installing.  I just checked, actually, and there's quite a
nice page about your laptop there.

Dual-booting and upgrading to 6.1 later should be no problem, although I
myself have never been brave enough to do an actual upgrade - I save my
files and toast all but the /home partition usually, then reload completely.
Either way should be fine.
