[OLUG] Ethernet cards and Linux...

Phil,
I actually feel that with linux the older the ethernet card the better it
works. I am using generic ne2000 cards now. I also know that 3com or some
other name brand card that is in the kernel will work real well as well.
I still like my ne2000 card but thinking of switching to pci one for speed
issues.
Up to you.. I would buy something supported in the kernel and known to work
well. I believe 3com would be a wise choice but if you use a dual boot
situation with nt or '98 stay away from 3com they ship with bad drivers and
are just a bear to configure in nt even with good drivers.
