I still haven't figured out why dd's not working right for me but until
I do could I make a symbolic link from that like so >ln -s /dev/hda1
</path/to my/file> then eventually dd the  link I made and use that if I
ever need to reinstall windows?Because I'd like to install some of my
windows software.Also if I add software to my windows partition  after I
create the link would that also be like adding it to the link or would
the link still be "virgin" windows :) ?
