[olug] uneeded services

Lol  I hear you on the winblows,I knew you didn't hafta reboot linux  but I
didn't know the command to restart the process.Portmap starts on boot on  my
box which I see is related to sunrpc.which I want to turn off.Would it hurt me
to turn portmap off at boot?My machine is just a run of the mill  home pc with
a cable modem.(no servers running in other words)
