[olug] O'Reilly User Group Support

I have contacted O'Reilly publishing about their User Group support
program.  It appears that O'Reilly is very active in supporting User
Groups such as ours.  They will provide the groups with free books so
long as someone reviews the book on the OLUG web site.  Since I was the
one to ask about it I am by default the Group Rep for O'Reilly.  I have
currently requested the Perl CD Bookshelf, the new Managing IMAP book
and the GIMP Pocket Reference.  They will also donate merchandise to the
group to use for raffles, auctions, and other fund raising type things.
All members of the group also get a 20% discount on O'Reilly stuff.
Another benefit is  "O'Reilly offers to organize speaking engagements
with our authors at User Group meetings or other venues, whenever
possible".
All we have to do for them is to place a banner on the OLUG site linking
to O'Reilly (see http://ug.oreilly.com/banners for their banners), let
them know when we have posted a review, and send them a copy of the
review.
I think this would be a great thing for the group.
(Can you all tell that I would like to be the group librarian!!!

lend)
