UNL has a DS3 connection to the Internet. That's 155 Mbit/s. Right now
with classes in session it's probably at around 40-50% utilization so you
should be able to do your 30 users without too much of a problem. Depending
on what building you're in your connection could range anywhere from T1 to
ATM. Don't worry though, if you start eating up too much bandwidth IS
will just shut off your port. :-)

k, here's the skinny on the ftp site.
I have it set to 30 anonymous ftp users. It is on the University of
Nebraska - Lincoln campus and my connection to the hub is 10Mb/s. I
don't know what the connection is from campus to anywhere else though.
I have easily pulled 300kB/s from metalab.unc.edu. I assume that 30
users would not overtax my connection too bad and still give reasonable
download rates.
