[olug] 2nd NIC Card

I can't get my 2nd NIC ard to work.

I added this line to lilo.conf (and
ran /sbin/lilo):

append="ether=0,0,eth1"

Here are lines from dmesg that deal with
eth0:

8139too Fast Ethernet driver 0.9.13 loaded
eth0: SMC1211TX EZCard 10/100 (RealTek RTL8139) at 0xd8800000, 
00:e0:29:46:fa:c2, IRQ 5
eth0:  Identified 8139 chip type 'RTL-8139A'

I am running the 2.4.0 kernel under Debian.

I must be doing something wrong or there is something
I should be using and am not.
