[olug] The Stigma of .0 Releases

The beginning of the Debian Woody freeze has just been announced, as 
well as noting that it will be released as 3.0. Now, thanks to Redhat 
excellent reputation on .0 releases, the announcement has the following 
line in it:

    "Personally, I'm pretty happy with the way woody's progressing, and 
I think by the time it's released it'll easily live up to that number -- 
and by that I mean the "3", not the ".0"."
