[olug] firewall

I use ipchains. The -l option sends those attempts to your syslog
/sbin/ipchains -A input -s 192.168.0.0/16 -l -j DENY
I assume iptables is superior. I've heard all good and no bad so it must be
at least OK.
I believe there is a simple conversion tool to convert ipchains rules to
iptables rules.

Subject: [olug] firewall
does anyone use ipchains or iptables as a firewall? If you do I have some
quick questions.
How do you log addresses of people who attempt connections.
Is iptables easy to go to from ipchains? Is iptables superior to ipchains?
Thanks
-Jon
