[olug] hdd issues

Some of my thoughts on this
probably nothing to do with windows swap space.  Windows just uses a regular file for swap.  Is this a large drive on an old Motherboard?  I would be supscious of the bios.  did you do a surface scan?   Is there any failing sectors?  Some hard drive manufactureres have trouble-shooting programs for there drives.  You might want to try and run a diagnostics on the drive.  What services are running that would modify your hard driver over night?  Have you scanned for viruses?  It might be that scan disk doesn't properly fix the problem.  Can you back up the partition and drop / recreate?
