I looked for the hinges -- no such luck! It is a Desktop system. I took
off the face plate and it looks like the HD is directly under the FD
and there may be enough room under that to insert another HD, If that
isn't the case, there's definitely enough room under the CD but that
would mean jimmying up some sort of a chassis. I'd prefer to just have
everything slide in like you said. This particular desktop chassis looks
like it was built in interconnecting pieces so that in order to get
access to one piece you have to take another one off but that means you
have to take this piece off, ad infinitum.
The tank analogy definitely fits.
