I have a USB PNY CF reader. It works great in linux.
modules used (from memory since I'm not at home):
uhci
usb-storage
it then just mounts and unmounts like a normal floppy disk.
I bet your SIIG one will work also.
plug it in, modprobe usb-storage, check dmesg, and mount it on a scsi
device
