[olug] Kernel upgrade knocked out sound?

I don't think that it is necessary to remove then reinstall alsa.  I 
think that you can just apt-get it again and it will reinstall over the 
top.

By the way, I could be completely off base.  I currently use gentoo 
which uses emerge instead of apt-get.
