Nope, up2date plays nice with grub.  Even rpm -e kernel-xxxxx updates
grub.conf.  Installing a kernel via up2date makes it the default kernel on
the next boot.  (No screaming, you need to force the kernel to update so
you know what is going on before you do, it won't by default, update the
kernel without explicit permission.)
