Yes we welcome all kinds of Linux dialog. There has been lots of talk
about SUSE Linux lately because of there Free DVD.
Welcome.

Hello,
Just signed on. I'm not sure how active this list is, only recieved 1
digest so far, and all I can say to it is "At this point in the game we
really need Novell to remain an independent company, not to have those who
have mis-managed things in the past at the helm. Healthy competition will
keep them all more honest and on their toes working to improve instead of
tie-up the market in a few pockets."
I currently use a fairly wide range of hard/software, and unfortunately,
like everywhere else, all I hear about here is 'Windows', so I hope to
hear
a lot of 'other'on here. I'm working on some conversions to smaller
devices
such as thinclients, industrial systems, and IA's to use as testbeds for
BeIA/OS and OpenBeOS/Haiku use in embedded systems. There are also some
related projects using BeOS API's on the Linux kernel. If you haven't
tried
BeOS, you really should now that we're taking it OpenSource. It's
refreshing to use after fighting with M$, and makes a good system to use
alongside *nix as they have a lot of similarities and their difference
tend
to compliment each other. If anyone is interested in trying it, let me
know. PPC 603-604's, will work on G3 upgrades in PowerMacs, and x86,
Pentium and up.
Is there much interest locally in demoing alternate systems occasionally?
Cale Lewis
