With RH, either using apt-get or up2date, I was never
sucessful in upgrading from one distro to another.  Of
course, I always backed up the important files before
doing this, but I gave it a try. 

BTW, I didn't move over to Fedora, I went over to
Slackware, and currently running 9.1 and really like
it.
