[olug] Reiserfs/LVM Best Practices

We've been working to get gentoo installed on a server at work.  It's been an 
uphill battle.  It seems there is some trickery needed to use a root 
partition with LVM.  I've seen a couple of posts to the gentoo forums 
indicating that it was probably best not to use LVM on the root partition.  
If you run LVM, do you use it for root?
