[olug] New Suse 9.1 Pro install

It was a little bumpy at first until I went with a safe install. Now I have an almost everything install but the screen has some dots all over it and the sound is not yet working. I have a VIA mainboard with onboard sound, ethernet and video. I know, I know, it is probably low-quality. Any guidance for getting sound and the dots to go away would be appreciated.
