[olug] Samba

If "oplocks=no" does NOT work, other than the info from Jon on opening it in a WinDB and making a change, any other ideas??  Is Samba 3.0+ better at file locking?  I am going to try setting up a test server at my house, getting SuSE 9.0 installed and configured as the production server, and then upgrading it to SuSE 9.1 to see if the upgrade is clean.  I am already putting a fall back plan into place for a Win2k Server install if those does not work by Wed. COB.  I absolutely HATE the idea of putting Win2k in that machine but I have a customer to get up and running and I am stuck with the s/w they purchased to do it.  Thanx to any and all that reply!!

Turn off opportunistic locking:
oplocks = no

Ideally, you should turn it off for troublesome files:
veto oplock files = /*.dbf
