Being a fan of Python, Zope is cool.  However, I've had really good
success with GeekLog, http://www.geeklog.net/

The lead dev is over in Des Moines, almost a local<g>

I have intranets using this with great success.  I also have a couple
public group sites that use it and really like it.  The code is clean so
is easy to modify.  Mailing list is informative and helpful.
