Assuming one or both sides of the cable don't do Auto-MDIX - pretty much 
all gigabit equipment will work regardless of the cable type (crossover 
vs straight).

Some 10/100 equipment will do it too (ie the ethernet ports on my 
SonicWALL TZ 170 firewall), but that seems to be relatively rare 
compared to gigabit.
