To follow up on this slightly, a friend of mine had his Qwest cable modem 
go out late Friday night, early Saturday morning.  Nothing could be done 
to fix the problem until this morning.  Not a knock against Qwest, but be 
aware that the smaller install base, usually means a smaller support and 
response staff.  And a tech may not be available on the weekend to resolve 
your issue.

His access was restored this morning around 10 AM with a new cable modem 
(same make, model).
