That was my gut feeling. I noticed the first time I ran up2date on FC3 SELinux
filled the screen with warnings. I haven't looked into it too much either, but
a cursory read of the man page gave information on turning it off.

That probably would fix it, I'm guessing you can configure SELinux to allow a
specific user to run arbitrary commands of your choosing, but that's a guess.
