[olug] psmouse.c error

I recommend you try Tom's Root Boot as a rescue
floppy, since it is provides a bare minimum of console
utils, I don't think pmouse is compiled in the kernel,
and I don't see it listed as a module:

http://www.toms.net/rb/

http://www.toms.net/rb/tomsrtbt.FAQ

If that doesn't work, you may need to create a custom
boot or rescue disk (floppy or CD) with a custom
kernel.

If you get Tom's to boot, you should be able to mount
your hard drive partion(s), mount your proc, chroot,
source profile, and re-compile your kernel. Here is
an example, your mileage may vary:

mkdir /mnt/orig
mount -t ext3 /dev/hda1 /mnt/orig
mount -t proc none /mnt/orig/proc /proc
chroot /mnt/orig /bin/bash
source /etc/profile

(you should be able to re-compile your kernel at this
point, or at least have network access to the
resources you need.)

If you have any special drivers required (ie raid) to
access your partitions, you may need to load them
seperately, or create your custom disk disk from the
start.

Good luck, I hope the bad bad pain goes away soon!
