As for you Paul, go through the Anaconda Installer (Add/Remove Programs 
in the System Settings Section of your Applications, if you installed a 
GUI such as Gnome), and put a check next to Development Tools 
(http://eumario.trilake.net/~eumario/anaconda_development.png), then hit 
Update.  This should install all of the required development tools, 
libraries, and headers that you need.  The picture is of Fedora Core 4, 
but the Anaconda Installer hasn't changed much between 3 and 4.
