[olug] FC3 install stops in boot of cd1

I need to install Fedora Core 3 (not 4) on a new machine.  I've
installed FC3 before, but have never had this problem.

When I try to boot the first CD, booting halts when it says:

    VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem).

No error, no nothing.  Just stops. It does the same thing when I try
to use the FC3 Rescue CD.

Any ideas?
