I'm still a little skittish because of the initial price for the PS3 itself, but this DOES make it look like a worthwhile investment, maybe when the price comes down.
For now, my PC does most of what the PS3 does, but of course I'm always upgrading there..

So am I going to be able to buy an off the shelf PS3, put Linux on it,
plug it into the network/tv/kbd/mouse and do whatever I want?

My xbox (which is only used for media) is getting a bit old, this could
be a good upgrade.
