True, mostly.  Not sure about the 1.4 comment tho.  I've seen my fair 
share of upstream bugs being closed with the comment "1.4 isn't 
developed anymore, wontfix". :(

amarok-2.0 is just a starting point for much greater things.  It 
leverages much excellent core kde4 technological pillars, such as phonon 
(abstracted, cross-platform, multimedia framework), solid (hardware, 
plugable devices), plasma (embeddable applets), as well as a script 
engine for customization (and more).

So, while amarok-2.0 in comparison to amarok-1.4 may not match it 
feature for feature, I'd venture that won't last very long.  It's 
already better in many ways.
