Heh.  When I first read this, I read it exactly opposite and agreed
heartily.

I love Linux, but NFS on Linux _sucks_.  Hard.  I avoid it (in favor
of Samba/CIFS) whenever possible.

Here's an experiment:

Mount an NFS volume between two Solaris servers and store RRDtool
databases on it.  Then attempt to repeat with Linux.  You can't.

Samba takes a little more to set up, but it pays off in spades.
