I've got the 605 WiFi and have been pretty happy with it. I've used it
for watching video, reading PDFs and an MP3 player in the car, mounted
using a GPS mounting system. As a portable MP3 player I wouldn't
recommend it, the button on the side are not conducive easy operation in
a pocket and the screen makes it a tad large to carry around, I would be
concerned about damaging it.
Another option to look at would be the Nokia N800. For the price I
think the N800 would be a better deal than the N810, especially since
you are mainly looking for a media device.
