[olug] Qwest and IP assignment

Hi,

I set up and installed a friend's computer recently with Linux.  However, I'm struggling to SSH onto their computer from
mine at my house.  Their set-up is basically one computer->modem->Internet.  There's no router.

When I'm at his house 'ifconfig' reports a 10.* address, but if I go to a web site via his computer (one that tells me
my IP address) it tells me a 204.* address.

Do these Qwest modems act as a router?  Or am I missing the boat?
