[olug] Ubuntu losing network

I have an Ubuntu box that has suddenly decided it enjoys being disconnected
from the network.  It is running latest updates and DHCP.  I have log files
but the mail server doesnt like all those attachments.  When it gets in it's
disconnected mode, it also will not shutdown.  I am totally lost here.

I would really appreciate any help anyone might offer.
