EnvyNG = fail.  I get the same unresponsive blank black place where x should
be. I have affectionately coined that state the black screen of despair, but
that being neither here nor there, I am removing envy.

 Jennifer, let me look over what you shot at me, and I will see about trying
it, though it looks like the steps I tried off the ubuntu forums the other
night. though I must say Hooray for sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak
