[olug] Thursday night Ekiga Meet-Ups

For me, on Ubuntu or Debian, Ekiga was already installed.  I have a
Logitech 350 USB headset that worked right out of the box.  I did a
couple test calls after signing up with Ekiga and joined the BerkeleyTIP
one Saturday afternoon a couple of months ago.

I was so amazed at how well it worked, I wanted to try to get a regular
night to do it, when my wife would try to keep the kids down to a dull roar.

We usually have 3 to 5 people.  Many fail not having a microphone, and
sometimes open mics get annoying.

I find the quality of Linux related topics to be excellent, but they are
really all off the cuff, and usually suggestions of what to try.

Its been getting slow, so I thought I'd try to drum up some excitement
somewhere.....so of course Omaha was on my list....

I have two local LUGs, one is kinda slow, the other had about 50 people
at the last meeting.  Penguicon is coming up in Romulus MI the first
weekend next month.  That is my big excitement.  www.penguicon.org

The http://www.virtuallug.com web site is really basic, and designed to
let people know how to connect and when.

I'm thinking any sip device might work as long as you can call
sip:5013689 at ekiga.net
