[olug] Help for a newbie systems administrator

To me, knowing EVERYTHING the box does, in detail, is the most important.  I
second the vote for Google and Red Hat forums, but if you don't know what
the box is supposed to be doing, it will be Hell to fix it if there are
problems.

Get a list of everything that runs on the box - versions, ports used, etc.
If you have problems, a lot of people / resources will be able to help you
get A box running, but they won't know anything about YOUR box.

Once you have trouble, it's too late to start gathering the info.
