If I am using a Linux server as a Router and I want to verify that there is no "hidden" proxy redirects on that server for the people that use it.  Would I look at the iptables?  
BTW.  iptables output is:
Server:~ # iptables -L
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination

Any ideas where else to look??
