My only point here, is that if you're not given the option _at purchase
time_ to not include Windows and get a discount, then you shouldn't complain
when you try to return it for a refund.

In your case TJ, if you specifically requested something, and they sold it
to you under the assumption that what you requested is what you'd be
receiving, then you have a valid case.  But, in this case you say you
specifically requested Version A, but they shipped Version B - which is a
different scenario from "I bought this PC with Windows, but I'd like to
return Windows".  I'd say Futureware is in the wrong, not HP or Microsoft.
