Technically, perhaps.  However there are commercial products on the M$
platform (PowerDVD comes to mind) that are totally legit.  The day the
Fed knocks on my door for obtaining libraries to playback a DVD that I
own and equipment that I also own for my family's enjoyment is a sad
day indeed.

Now if I were to start copying and distributing these DVDs, that would
be a different story.
