When my Alltel (now Verizon) Cellular ISP would connect to windstream,
it was fast.
When it started connecting to vzw, it became unreliable and slow.

Messing up dns is pathetic.  All those "modem" devices should come
preinstalled with a test private IP address within the LAN ip segment.
 Lights on the front as to whether the DNS server is resolving for
private subnet.
