So - are the hybrid drives generally compatible with any SATA?  I'm
tempted by the performance of SSD, but I'd rather have something more
plug and play if possible,

I need to do more research, obviously, but it seems like Jeff Atwood
hasn't had great things to say about SSDs in terms of reliability.
Any failures of drives with folks here?
