And even worse when Sprint finally switches over to what verzion is using, it is my understanding that you'll have to get a new phone.

Of the current Sprint phones available I'd recommend the Photon. I think
the NVIDIA Tegra 2 is the best currently available chipset. It has a
front facing web cam like cam for video phone calls. It has a durable
Gorilla Glass screen. It is a "World Phone", it has both GSM and CDMA
radios. It has a kick stand.
The only thing bad about the phone is that it has 4G, while Verizon
Wireless's 4G is 25Mbits of OMGWTF Awesome everywhere I have tested in
Omaha, Sprint's 4G is worthless and basically the only thing you get out
of it is paying $10 more a month on your phone bill.
