[olug] Parallela Kickstarter is down to last 2 days

I think I read somewhere in the article that it can run or comes with Ubuntu  12.#  that will run on the ARM 9 CPU. So for powerful compiler performance or FPU tasks this is very exciting project.

Hey Guys,

The Parallela kickstarter is down to its last 2.5 days and are still short.  This is a very cool project that is going to be doing an ARM cpu with a 16 core RISC processor connected to it.   The don't talk about what OS it is running but I've got to imagine it will be Linux based.

If you're interested in Parallel computing this is probably going to be the cheapest chance to get into it for quite a while.  If they raise enough money which is highly unlikely they are going to open source the design.
