I know some who feel that anything proprietary or closed-source is evil.
For me, freedom is freedom of choice. Run anything you want to, whether it is FOSS or proprietary. I think Steam on Linux is a great thing, and will only improve gaming on Linux, where the days of manual Wine configuration will be a thing of the past.
