[olug] Postfix/dovecot

Not a postfix/dovecot expert, but the logs state that Permission was
denied when attempting to open a log file
(/home/vmail/dovecot-deliver.log).  Who is postfix/dovecot running as,
and do they have access to that homedir.

Also, regarding the Relay Access Denied, did you setup Postfix to
allow mail to be sent _from_ gmail.com domains?  I believe (from when
I've setup qmail / exim4 in the past) you define what domains your MTA
is allowed to send for.

Dovecot _ISN'T_ an MTA - postfix is, right?  So are you talking about
postfix sending / receiving the email effectively in the same
operation, but dovecot doesn't see the message in the maildir that
postfix "delivers" to?

Rough process: postfix (local) -> postfix (local) -> maildir ->
dovecot -> email client (Thunderbird, Horde, RoundCube, etc)  ??  In
this instance are you configuring postfix to talk to itself, or are
you attempting to transport via postfix to a remote SMTP server, which
in turn sends the message back to your postfix install?
