Most of the services I use that can host DNS zones also have a simple
API that can trivially be operated with curl/wget/scripting languages:
Amazon
DigitalOcean
Linode
Dreamhost
Gandi
etc etc
I find this sort of thing simpler and more flexible than dynamic DNS
services that require you run some proprietary client. At one point in
time I had about a four-line script running on my Android phone that
would update a DNS zone at Gandi so that I had a name that would
always point to my phone.
