[olug] Machine randomly powers off

check the motherboard for blown caps, test with known good psu.  It is most
likely one of the two.  IF you have a good UPS it should prevent most power
sags and swells so its probably not external power causing the issue.  I
assume also its not a thermal shutdown since you said fanspeeds (and
temps?) are all ok.
