[olug] vbox pxe performance

I need some extra eyes on this

setup
a. ubuntu 17.04 (host) vbox running custom centos 7.2 PXE server
b. client pxe install centos and then pxe installs centos in a  kvm image

The later piece takes ~ 1.5h

Other devs running doing the same the latter piece takes ~ 30m
only difference (so far) is they are either running mac or windows
as the host in part a.

Minor deltas, I'm running a newer vbox (5.1.24 as of today)
I believe everyone else is at 5.1.10 - 5.1.20

Thoughts?
