When I got set up a couple of years ago, I did have Windows running (dual
boot) but I took one look at the CD the installer was about to put in and
said "No way Jose!". I just told him to give me the sheet with the
networking information and I'd take care of it. He seemed quite pleased at
not having to mess with it. :-)
Your mileage may vary. As for them not liking Linux, just limit the number
of servers you're running, especially FTP, HTTP, and NNTP, or firewall them
from 24.x.x.x and you should be fine. They scan periodically but are mostly
worried about NNTP at this point so they don't get the Usenet Death Penalty
again.
