Well Daniel, the thread kind of took a fork when it was suggested that
anyone that wanted an easy to use computer should use Windows XP.
Windows XP is a DESKTOP operating system. There is no such thing as
Windows XP "Server". I take issue with people relegating Joe User to MS
just because they don't want to learn every config file on their computer
or the difference between a byte and a nibble. I apologize if that fork
wasn't apparent. I couldn't let the comment slide without response.

I kinda thought it was apparent when the topic of the thread had the word
server
in it. I even mentioned rebuilding engines, not something joe driver should
do.
I personally like an easy to use/update desktop. It should turn on and obey
my
commands with a minimum amount of effort. Both my Debian stable and OS
X/fink
machines have auto updaters that work great. So does windows. If they're
suitable for server use and total customization is another issue
alltogether.
Which is what I was trying to get at.
