What type of editing are you talking about? Cinelerra and Film Gimp
are probably waaay more than you need. I don't know of any editors in
linux that support mp4... hardly anyone uses it. Avidemux is the
closest thing I can think of, you might be able to open it but you'll
probably have to remux it to AVI in order to save your changes. (just
checked the website, it does support mp4 as an input format, but not
as an output format just like I thought.)
